The Stepping Stone provides before and after care programming for adolescents and young adults with special needs currently attending secondary school or other programs. The Stepping Stone offers persons with disabilities a safe and nurturing environment in which to learn, grow and have fun. The foundation of the programming will include life skills training enabling the participant to become as independent as possible in their home and community.
Programming at The Stepping Stone includes:
- Arts & Crafts
- Computer Training/Games
- Music Appreciation
- Sports, Recreation and Leisure
- Activities of Daily Living
- Life Skills Training
- Language Skills Training
- Academic Fundamentals
- Playing Games
- Socialization Skills
Before and after care available:
- Monday to Friday
- 7:30 – 8:30 am and from 2:30 – 5:30 pm
Enrolment Details
The basic care rate applies to clients who do not require 1:1 care at any time during their time at The Stepping Stone. For those clients who do require 1:1 care at some point during their stay, the Advanced Care rate applies. This 1:1 care includes client’s who require assistance with feeding, toileting, behaviour management, lifts and transfers etc.
