The Stepping Stone has been a great resource for my autistic, adult child, Philip. He attends three days a week and practically leaps out of the car when we arrive at the parking lot. The program is varied and driven by the interests of the clients.
The Stepping Stone provides my son with a caring, fun, safe and stimulating environment with the other young adults. The staff are friendly, competent and conscientious.
I am especially pleased with the regular sign language classes that occur. This increases my son’s communication skills as well as providing an opportunity for the other clients to also communicate with Philip and each other. There are outings, gardening, cooking and baking opportunities, crafts and a regular theme each week.
I am fortunate that a program like ‘The Stepping Stone’ exists and I would highly recommend that you entrust your special needs child to the care of Sue and Wendy.
As a parent, it important to feel that your child is safe and is being well cared for while you are not there and I feel this when leaving our son with the very dedicated staff at ‘The Stepping Stone’.
The Staff at ‘The Stepping Stone’ goes the extra mile in making our son feel very welcome, loved and cared for. We feel confident that we are leaving our son in competent, reliable, safe and professional hands every day.
We appreciate that, Sue Reaume, was always promptly available to answer any questions or concerns we may have had. It gives me great peace of mind that my son loves going there.

When Ken and I heard about the opening of this private facility called ‘The Stepping Stone’, we were very anxious to give it a tour.
Todd has enjoyed his participation at this great community centre as he is quiet happy at the end of the day and ready to come home. The group activities make for a full and eventful day.
The well-being of the parent is also a consideration to the staff and the communication books are a well planned item. Hoping for many years to come with this facility!
